Northrop says it will assemble its A330 aircraft and modify it for military operations in Mobile, Alabama, creating at least 2,500 new jobs and supporting 25,000 around the country. EADS has promised to assemble all A330 commercial freighters at the new facility it plans to build in Mobile. Testifying on Wednesday at 10 a.m. EST will be Sue Payton, the top Air Force arms buyer, and Lt. Gen. Donald Hoffman, the top military official in charge of acquisitions. Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne and his special assistant for acquisitions, Kenneth Miller, have also been busy answering the questions of Boeing supporters on Capitol Hill. Reflecting overall market weakness, Northrop shares were 2.3 percent lower at $80.63 in mid-morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, while Boeing shares were down 1.5 percent at $79.46.

On one side of the post is a portrayal of a mounted St. George the Victorious (Georgy Pobedonosets); and on the other, a foot soldier, who is often seen as Prince Oleg of Ryazan (Oleg Ryazansky). This boundary post is perhaps the only remaining symbol of old Ryazan.
'Free-spirited' Joss in Flake debut
Singer Joss Stone looks set to melt hearts with her new role as the latest Flake girl. Stone was announced as the first celebrity to take the role after a string of models starred in the commercials, including a former Miss World. The soul singer from Devon has developed a personal rendition of the jingle "Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate, tastes like chocolate never tasted before". The 20-year-old stars in the new campaign which will air on ITV1 for the first time during the premiere of Rock Rivals on Wednesday evening. "She was chosen because she is very free-spirited," said a Cadbury spokesman. "Joss will bring something different to the previous adverts - the jingle has never been sung by one of the girls before." The Flake girls have developed notoriety for their highly sensual adverts which started in 1959.
